... Can I use braided stainless lines for the brakes, or should I just use bulk line and bend and flare it? Thanks!

Re: 72 Jeep Commando!!!! Need Parts!!!

I am just getting ready to start on my rear brakes myself. The auto parts store here can get the brake drums, wheel kits, and wheel cylinders. The rubber lines I believe are also available. Hard lines and tee's may be another story.

Your auto parts store probably carries them, however I live in the virgin islands and that is quite a different story at our parts store, and I was hoping to make them myself... any suggestions???

I'd use the steel hard line, like the original. Lengths of steel brake line are available in any parts store here on the mainland, and you should be able to get them there if you look around.

You can make the lines from bulk steel or stainless steel brake tubing, if you have the fittings and a flaring tool. Has to be brake tubing, and the proper tool, and double flares though.

Another possibility is to get a kit for a CJ-5, and lengthen the tube that follows the length of the chassis.

On second thought, Inline Tube sells a kit for the Commando: http://www.inlinetube.com/
    Plain steel (OEM) or stainless.
