I am about to purchase high back seats. I am hoping I can make them work on my existing brackets since the brackets are in great shape. Some of the posts I have read indicate a problem with leg room with new seats. Right now, my leg room is perfect with the original seats pushed back as far as they will go. I am 6'1". Any advice on which seats may work best with my original brackets and which seats won't take up more leg room? I read the deal on a wheelhouse notch but I don't think I can tackle that one right now. By the way, I am looking for seats that will allow me to get a 3 point seatbelt or harness.

Your right. There is a ton of info about installing seats in an intermediate. I gained a great deal of information from reading the posts. I might have missed it but I didn't read anything that metioned loss of legroom with certain brands of seats.

Im in the same boat. 6'3" and the seats in my jeep are killing me(see pic) but they give me just enough leg room. Im afraid that any new seats i get may take to much away.

It seems like people want to lay the seats back so far when changing seats out. I strongly suggest the wheelwell notch. I just did it on my fiberglass tub and it is great on the passenger side. I am going to finish up the drivers side this weekend. It allows me to lower the seats a couple of inches and push them back three inches. It's about as much as you can go without creating a new problem with tire clearance. I'm 6 foot and needed more room, I can't imagine what it's like being 6'3" or taller.

Definitely look for something that has a narrow back to it. So many seats I have seen have so much padding on the back that it pushes the driver too far forward.

I had a set of suspension seats from Garage pro and even though they looked like a better fit than what I have, they weren't. I stuck with my "Think Jeep" seats. They fit better although not great.

I 'm not sure what kind of seats these are, (PO installed) but I have plenty of legroom and they are set up for 4 point seat belts.
My wife is 6'0" and she doesn't complain about the legroom, but she has a problem with the steering wheel clearance (its a female thing! R)).
My Jeep has a crossbar right behind the seats for the shoulder belts to hook to, so I can't slide the seats any farther back.

thanks, I wish I could say I did it. Its all PO installed.
When I got this one, it actually had a TV monitor and DVD playing capability, all installed in the roll bar. That got removed pretty quick....

Thanks so much for the pictures. That really helps. I like looking at the seats as well as what other people have done to their jeep. I also like the dash (which is the last project I plan to start) in the second picture. I also like those pads in the back over the wheels in the first picture. Is that line x in the bed? I am planning on putting line x in the bed but I want to get everything in first and see where all the holes will be (seats, console, speakers, etc.). I'm actually glad just to have the jeep running well so I can start on some cosmetics. Thanks for all the help.

The entire tub on mine is hurcu-lined inside and out. Pretty tough stuff, but surface prep is extremely important! mine is flaking off under the wheelwells and some under body areas.
