    Hi,

I have a 52M38A1/CJ5 with a Chevy 305 V8. I recently went from an Edelbrock Carb to a Quadrajet. My throttle cable I used before was a small manual cable running from my gas pedal directly to my carb through the firewall. I would like something a little nicer and safer on the quadrajet. Does anyone know what would be the best cable to use for length and ect. on my Jeep? My guess would be some sort of chevy car with a short cable. I basically just have the carb with no brackets and a gas pedal I fabbed from a car a few years back. You can also email me at bjnorth@atcjet.net

    Any help is appreciated:)

When I was doing the V8 builds in vegas the stock vega parts worked very well. I would think the Vega/monza parts are pretty easy to come by. The bracket for the manifold could be had off of any number of older chevy cars/trucks. Not sure that one would work any better than any of the others. Just get the ball stud you need to fit the carb/cable combo. I would look for a nova, monte carlo, caprice or something like that in the 70's vintage. Throttle cable from a late CJ also may work well for you. They use the same square snap fitting into the mount as the GMs and then just snap onto a ball stud at the carb. If you run across the jeep in the scrap yard you may want to grab the whole setup, pedal, cable, manifold mount and ball stud.
