Was wondering if anyone has tried the Crane Cam XR-I points to electronic ignition conversion kit. Saw it at advanced auto for 75 bucks. Looks like it is a complete dist. with the new guts inside is it that simple just to drop her in. And does anyone know a part number for a 1967 v6 225 thanx all cw

I'm not familiar with that particular unit, but be advised that the odd-fire Buick V-6 is a unique beast and has an ignition triggering sequence all its own. Most aftermarket and OEM systems don't take into consideration the unique firing sequence with the odd-fire.

IIRC it's similar to a Pertronix unit isn't it?

Like Steve said, most manufacturers seem to conveniently "forget" the unique spacing between firing events in an odd-fire V6.

I looked into the crane system and you were right its not for the oddfire engine. Had to go to the company website to find out.
