Stock shock size & good brand?

    What is the size of a stock shock for 1970 CJ5 & what is a decent brand, quality & price, to use? I took the longer shackles off & want to finish the return to stock suspension with the right shocks. TIA

    I like Monroe's, so when i decided to do what you are thinking thats what i put on .You could debate the pro's and con's of a dozen brands,thats fine,use what you like.the FLAPS should be able to look up correct part # or do it your self. you have a PC.BTW i love the way my jeep rides now that the rancho's are gone.if i ever wanted more control i would double up on the stock shocks.you can also get stock type shocks with longer travel if you do a little research.
