I have the bell crank system on my 60 cj5 and stock steering shaft, I was wondering , Is there any way to shorten the steering shaft. I havent had this type of system apart before so I dont know what it looks like inside that little steeering box. BUt it sure would be nice to get that steering wheel a little further away from my chest. thanx cw

I just had mine apart not too long ago. It probably wouldn't be no big deal for a machine shop. Cut and respline the shaft. I'd section the tube or take it off the bottom(not sure about that) to save the original bearing location. I wouldn't go too far or the bus wheel will hit the ws(knuckles before that).:) :v6:

Also, working from the other end do a search for "wheelhouse notch" to move your seats back.:v6:
