Looking to weld on a front sport bar , to the original 74 Jeep Cj bar .

What should I expect to pay to have the floor mounts welded onto the front bar and 2 spreader bars attached to the rear . Also 2 small tubes welded through for some shoulder mounts ?

Going to be doing this in the future , trying to get a fell for a fair price .

    Thnx in advance

Call several shops in your area and comparison shop. Rates van vary wildly in different parts of the country. Shop work around here averages $65-$100/hr.
The area I grew up in, in NY, was about half that, last I knew.

Can't find someone on the board close to you with a welder? I would weld it in for you if you were closer. But I would tac it in place and then have you pull it out to finish it. Around here seems everyone and there neighbor has a welder in their garage.

Got my front section for the roll bars (cage) from Complete Offroad.

    http://completeoffroad.com/wsm/c-139_roll_cage_jeep_cj.html

get the one that says no shipping charges.(If doing a cage in a '55 to '71) It comes with the stringers for each side, and the footpads for in the footwell. I got two extra stringers to run from the front bar to the rear (original) bar spaced wide enough for my CB unit to sit between them. I made up two flat steel pieces to match the foot pads for under the floorboard stress relief. This all needs to be welded together, but the bends are all there in the right place, just trim to fit. (Trim to fit under a hard or soft top, too.) I ended up with six pieces of tubing I can angle trim and use for gussetting (if that is the right term).

Now I need to find the padding to go on them.:coffee: :hurrican:

Uh, you made these a different size than the ones going inside the Jeep, right?
