Noticed tonight that i do get some rear axle wrap. So i am thinknig bout making an ant-wrap bar for the jeep. I am curious to the differnt styles of them. There are ladder bars which i have seen many times but that are too low. The other one i have seen is a type that uses a shackle on one side and the other side it is attached to the axle with a bracket and a mount above and one beloew the axle tube. I dont understand this deisng much because i would think the shackle would move during wrap and really do no good to controlling axle wrap. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the shackle? I would think a mount in the front with an Johnny joint woudl be better since it is a solid mount. Since the rear supsnsion is leaf spring and the solid monut of the spring is on the same side as the anti wrap bar that is connected to the frame, it wont ripped when getting under load since the springs cannot go backwards. What are you guys using as a anti-wrap bar? There is one i really like, it mounts on the bottom of the axle and helps protect the driveshaft, that i find pretty trick :)

Here is a link to what I like, have personally used, and installed on other Jeeps. It is very effective IMHO.

The shackle type system seems to be prone to failure over time from what I have seen.

I havnt seen that link in a while Anders, i forgot about that one. Not sure how it would work with an offset axle :(

I have been looknig at this type of bar, it is a slipshaft type bar, made just like the usual shackle type but you have a johnny joint that connects to the crossmember. Here is a pic. kind of bad, but you should be able to see it Also i posted the pic of the anti-wrap bar and skid palte combo. Unfortunately it too is for a cetnered axle :(
