Ok, I figure that I hijacked the other thread enough.

Recap, destroyed my old column and steering wheel, need new column.

Found a donor XJ (Cherokee) at a local parts yard.
The column is in good shape, not tilt, but it looks good, I'm gonna use it.
It also has a good Saginaw setup for Power Steering, so while I'm in there I'm going to tear all that out and use it too.

My concern was that the steering rod from the XJ wasn't long enough.
But after looking at it again yesterday it appears that I can just swap mine in after all, they have the same style connectors on the u-joints.

I was sooo close to getting all the parts out of the XJ yesterday. I'm going over there after work today to get all the parts. I just have to beat the drag link off the pitman arm and yank the column loose from the steering rod.

I also ordered a new water pump for a newer wrangler ( 258 ) from my FLAPS for $20. This should point the outlet down and allow me to bolt up the donor PS pump. Also, found the word "REVERSE" written on the XJ water pump after looking. Thanks to the previous thread for the warning.

I will update this weekend when I try to put it all together.
I'm attaching photos of my current water pump for reference (Tim this is to add to your vast knowledge). The picks of yours had to spout pointing down, mine doesn't, its in the way, wanted to show you what mine looks like.
    Thanks
