Original 1956 CJ5 shocks?

    The shocks that were on my Jeep are apparently the originals (I still have them). They all have a piece of steel plate spot welded over the lower portion, facing forward, apparently as a "rock guard", this looks like it's factory-made. Has anybody seen shocks like this, and do you know if they're available anywhere? Sorry, no photos, but I could dig 'em out and take some if need be.

    My M38 and mmy former M38A1 both had them on the fronts and rears...the only guy I know who has them is where I bought mine from was Peter Debella www.debellajeepparts.com :)

    They SURE are...Funny thing is he always has only two or three sets left and of course " I will sell you a set "...He does treat me well...as with all his customers...:)
