I just sourced a Dauntless 225 V-6 that was previously hooked up to an automatic transmission. I am planning on using this with the T86 that is currently in the CJ-5 I am trying to put together. I bought the standard GM pilot bearing that seemed too big to fit into the crank and too small to fit the transmission shaft. Then I went to a Jeep rebuilding shop in town, told them what I have, and they sold me another bushing and they told me it would fit fine. But this bushing is exactly like the GM bushing.

How tight are these things supposed to fit into the crank? I dont see how it will possibly fit into that hole.

Is there a bushing out there that will fit the T86 or am I going to have to get this one machined? If I have to machine it, does anyone have the specs?

    thanks,

    Nathan

They should fit tight in the crank shaft and should slip over the transmission shaft. The bushing you need should be .750 thick with an outside diameter of 1.093 and inside diameter of .592-.593
