    OK, next question.

Apparently when the PO installed the fiberglass body he never reinstalled the parking brake - genius!

The two rear cables and the metal bracket that connects them are still intact under the body, but there is no forward cable and certainly no handle or the like.
When I rebuilt the brakes there was no extra e-brake hardware there either, but I'm sure I can order that from NAPA.

So my question is, where did the parking brake go on a 73 CJ5 and what did it look like. I see the standard foot pedal kind on ebay but is that right?
    Thanks

Foot pedal on the left, with a cable release attached to the bottom of the dash.

Can you snap a picture of yours when you get a chance? I am running into the same problem(lever missing).

Original has a cable release, but that would be close if it fit.

I have a 75, it was rusty and missing the release lever. I got one on E Bay for a 76. the 76 and later are a little different and had to drill new holes on the firewall as a different bolt spacing and make the hole on the floorboard larger becuase the cable mounts at a different angle but was able to make it work

    Larry,

Thats what will happen here, except I have no holes (replacement glass body), so I guess it wouldn't matter to me either way.
I'm glad to know you got it to work.
    Thanks
