I live just North of the Southern Metromess (Houston).
I live between Cleveland & Coldspring, TX; just south of Lake Livingston.

I'm in Dallas, Galleria area, during the week on business for the next few weeks, thought I would swing by Collins Bros while I was close.
I may drive up here one week and bring some stuff home depending on what I find. But most of all I just like to rummage through junk (thats half the fun!)

The taillight lens is current production - somebody posted the number here a while back. Search for Grote? The buckets are NLA though. Backup lens might be current production too - has anyone looked for them?

Is that for 1 bracket? $50 for the whole setup (2 seat brackets with working latches, 4 floor brackets) is a fair-good price IMO.

    Yeah, I saw the post.
I looked up the Peterson lights, they look pretty good, I just have to find somebody who actually sells them.
I have seen a couple shops that have some pretty good looking lights too, I'm going to do some calling today.
I'll let you know what I find out from JW.

This is the response I just got from Walck's
    --------------------------------------------
No one makes the exact tail light that was on your Jeep. I have a plain
round replacement light. The left light has the license plate lens.
    They are
    $12.95 each.
Reverse lights new complete socket and lens assembly.
Exactly like the originals $20.95 each.

Looks like a good source for rear lights.
I found some back-up lens in this ebay store as well.
Looks like I bought the two he had. He might get more though.

As far as I can tell on my 74 there was no license plate light provision in the originals. I'm not entirely sure it's legal because most states' laws clearly say that the rear plate must be illuminated to be visible from a certain distance at night. Anybody know if there was a separate plate light originally?

No, both of my Jeeps ('73 and '75) had the clear window in the bottom of the LH taillight, over the plate. Maybe you have two RH lights?

My 71 has the same tail lights as the intermediates and it also has the window in the Lh housing. I got my replacement lenses at Napa, they were exact copies of the lens that were on my Jeep when I bought it back in 92.

Must be because both right and left are solid metal cans with no clear window cutout. I guess it would be simple enough to make one with some clear plastic and silicone. I'll have to do that one of these days.

Just ordered a pair from Walck's.
    801157
    801158

    12.95 each.
I've seen these on few other pictures of jeeps, they look good and are close to the originals.

    --------------
    Went by Collins Bros.
They had a lot of stuff but they were expensive.
I felt like they knew this stuff can be hard to find and stuck it in my face.
    Pass.

if you are going digging for stuff, try Chrysler Heaven in Ft Worth, they have a BUNCH of CJs, early & intermediate. Then there is always 820 Jeep.

replacement tailights and side lights available at 4wd.com , I had to replace a couple of mine. You can get the whole assy with lense or just the bulb holder. I've seen sets on ebay for less than individual purchases.

Depends on what you call "replacement" - lots of places have taillights that will work. 4wd.com lists coverage for those lights of 48-75 ... that should tell you something. If you want the same taillights that came on the Jeep, those are NLA. The replacements are usually generic trailer lights, and are way different from the originals - using those would bug me, but to each his own. Probably better than the square Wrangler lights.

The marker lights are also available lots of places - those are correct.

Thats how I felt about it.
They seemed to be about as close as I could get.
I could go junking, but years in the sun results in the same condition that mine are in. So, like you said, better than square.
    Thanks
