    Yes, the presence of a hinged grill, and the fenders with no overlay (diagonal seam visible) indicate an early A-1, likely a '52. There should be a white serial tag on the front edge of the passenger wheelhouse, behind the seatback on the original tub. Slim chance to block sand through layers of paint on the hood sides to reveal the original military numbers, then get on the military sites to find the range where your numbers end up between.
