Nice work. A lot of thought has gone into building your jeep and it shows. Thanks for sharing.

Turn Signals are done, installed and working! Happy about that as it was the last thing in the passenger compartment - now just the engine compartment is left.

Here's the freshly re-assembled turn signal unit:

I toasted the little lens by soaking it in PBlaster - so my Jeep is now part Baking Soda Container:

Can't mount it to the column yet as I want to get the wheel on there first, and that will wait until I fire up the Jeep and know everything is working, then get the dash wiring tidied up.

Mike, do you have any pictures of what the light bulb/socket look like for the indicator light in the signal assembly? Mine is missing and I would like t replace it. I am thinking I may do that, or order some and put them in the dash.

    Looking good

    Starter and alternator wired today.

I got slowed down by fabbing a mount for the regulator. The firewall has about a dozen holes right there, none of them lined up (I think it was hung there by one bolt before...), and I didn't want to drill more (besides which the heater is block access to getting a nut on the backside anyway).

So I fabbed up a little mount from 1/2" square tubing so I could use the threaded holes from the original air cleaner instead. Came out nice and solid.

So - other than getting the fuel level sending unit hooked up as the gas tank goes in (and barring any mistakes) the wiring is completed.

    time!

I had the rollcage built - I don't have the tubing bender, etc necessary for that work.

It's been a couple of years but was ~$800 at the time.

Just watched your video and thought I saw a flash (like exhaust fire?) but am on dial-up so couldn't really tell. Happy for you on your success.

    :D

Girlfriend says I'm nerdy because I'm watching a video of someone else's JEEP fire up as if it were my own.

What do they know, anyway? :)

    Good work.

    Hah...;)

I'm just happy with how quickly she fired up after sitting for 2 years. I let the fuel pump run until there was gas in the carb, then bumped the starter and it was instant. So quick MsBoyink missed it on the vid...;)

Flushing the cooling system now, then we'll have to get the too-high voltage figured out. Really tempted to just replace the alt. with a simpler setup and lose the external regulator.

That's what I did. 10SI for $37 at my FLAPS. 63amps plenty for my setup, might want to go for the 12SI to feed your 'puter powered stuff.

The 95 amp isn't much more, maybe $10. With the FI and other stuff running he may want it. I just upgraded my YJ to the 95 amp. I converted my flatty to one-wire. REALLY nice.
