I have a T-90C shift cover on my T-90. It has provisions for a backup light switch on it. I cannot find the switch however. Does anyone know a source for a backup light switch for a T-90?

Could you take a picture of the location of the switch on the T90. I did not know they came with this toward the end of its use.

Would a late top swap out on an older T-90?

towers are interchangable on the T90's. there are other noticable differences on the towers besides the light switch, but through my experiences, all towers can be swapped. i've seen towers with just the flat boss on them where a light switch would go, some with no boss, and some with the boss drilled out for the switch. pm me if interested in a tower. i believe i have one with the boss on it that simply needs to be drilled and tapped. i have also modified an older tower with no boss to accept a reverse light switch.

heres a picture on the internet of an older tower with no boss and a later tower with hole drilled and tapped for a switch.

You can add the switch even if the top doesn't have a mounting boss, i did it to mine. Pics are viewable here-

Look for the pics marked " BL switch"

you didn't add any weld before drilling to first create a boss? thats what i did. i added some weld to the curvature of the housing, then grounded it down flat to give the switch a nice flat base to seal on. i guess it may not have been necesary.

Nope, the casting around the shift rail is thick enough that you can get sufficient threads to hold the switch. I canted mine over to the side 'cause I wasn't sure how much room there would be under the cover, as it turns out there is plenty, could have mounted it straight up without any problems.

Howard do you have a write up as well...pictures are great!

I have an M38A1 and was going to use the shift top because it has treaded pipe plugs where you did the freeze plug mods. Just not sure about the difference in the shifter riser compared to the CJ2A I have.
