dash decals

    did all older jeeps have mfr date and shift pattern tags,cant find any evidence my tux ever having either.have a m38a1 1955 and it has all kinds of metal ones.from serial no 8422a10273 it must have been born in dec 65:flag:

    About all the CJ5 and 6 had on the dash was the shift pattern sticker. I don't know if they ever had any tags like the flatfenders had. The emission controls in the late 60's brought stickers with more info. Military vehicles had all sorts of info, as you noted about yours.

    As is par for the course of literature being inaccurate-- I have a '59 owners manual for the CJ-5 that shows the shift pattern tag being a fastened plate. The '59 I have had a sticker.

    my 71 has a special order sticker, an info spec sheet from the special order, and the vin plate

    My '62 originally had the shift pattern sticker on the dash mounted low over the steering column. To my knowledge, that was the only dash sticker it had.
