Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the M.O.R.E. Frame Plates they sell for the Scrambler. Does anyone know how different the frames are aside from overall length? Would something like this work for a frame reinforcement/minor repair? any opinions?

not sure, most states frown heavily on repaired frames, and if you are ever in a accident insurance may buck on you,if its strictly an off roader go for it

MI would have no issues with it -- no inspections. Haven't ever heard of guys having insurance issues with repaired frames.

Unlikely the Scrambler plates would be useful for an earlier style open-channel frame, ie the Jeepster Commando. Repair for those should be silimar to repairs on a CJ of similar vintage. Check the archives first for previous discussion, then maybe post on the CJ forum. Pictures of the problem you want to repair would be very helpful. CJs tend to crack around the spring mounts - is your frame broken or rusted?

I'm not sure of exactly what type of repair you're looking at, pics would help. In the interim, take a look at the two threads I've posted below, detailing my frame repair that included rebuilding and reinforcing the last 8" of each frame rail on my CJ, including the shackle hanger.
The 3rd link is a link to the pics I took during the process. Hope something here is of use to you...

i guess I forgot to mention that the scrambler is on a Commando Frame, so in essence, what are the similarities between a commando frame, and a CJ frame. I worded my question in correctly. Thanks in advance
