Swapped in the T86 and D18?

Tooth count would be an issue I'm guessing if it's on a '46.

    Ok, I see’em now. Yesterday all I was get’n were red X’s.
Anyway, that is the B/W R-10. Herm the OD Guy has lots of information on’em.
The thing ‘bout’em is they’re a bit of a PITA to set up. See that shaft stick’n out the front of the OD unit in Vanguard’s and my pictures? That’s actually the adapter output shaft for the Dana/Spicer 18 transfer case. The entire OD unit is c-clipped to it.
For install, you’ll have to take the OD unit and your transfer case apart and install that shaft in place of the stock output shaft of your transfer case, then rebuild the OD unit onto that shaft.
Once installed they’re a pretty good unit though, strong also. Mine was stand’n up to a +300 HP and +300 lb/ft of torque Corvette V-8 without complaint.
How much is the guy ask’n anyway? I sold mine on EBay for ‘bout $500 + ship’n.

Actually, I don’t think spline or tooth count is an issue here, since it’s connected to the rear output. I’m pretty sure the output shaft remained the same throughout the different Dana/Spicer 18 models.
Though I’m equally sure that if I’m wrong, someone here will know and spell it out for us. ;)

You're probably right, I was thinking that as I read your description and thought back to Joel's pic.

In a Jeepster with the LWB it probably would fit fine?

At least he wouldn’t be stuck with an 8” rear drive shaft. ;)

He is asking $100 for both the D-18 and OD unit.

    Over drives for dana 20

Does anyone know if the BW R-10 will fit the Dana 20 T-Case?

ALso is there a control box to electrically shift it ?

Wonder if that speedo cable is necessary?

This would be a great overdrive in my Jeep Gladiator, have plenty of rear driveline, and I could keep my PTO winch.

Re: Over drives for dana 20

The Borg Warner overdrive was not adapted to the dana 20.
There was a kit to adapt it to the dana 18.
In the late '70's there was an overdrive designed for the dana 20 transfer case, called the "Sierra Overdrive".
Was not successful due to oiling problems.

No personal experience, but the pictures in this thread http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41524&page=3 seem to argue against that.

Looks like a B-W electric overdrive to me, and a production adapter.

Please read rules #7 and #15. These are in the Forum rules and Guidelines section on the Announcements section.

    7. Cross posting. We request that you post in the correct forum only. There are specific forums set out for ease of use, with clear headings. Please do not post the same thread in different forums. Cross-posting is a waste of your time, moderators time and the threads will be deleted. If a thread is posted by mistake in the wrong forum it will be moved by Moderators/Admin, but continuous posting in the wrong forum will be dealt with accordingly.

15.a Personal classified ads (your stuff for sale or that you wish to buy) belong in the classifieds portion of the web page not the forum. Ads in the forum will be removed. Ads for discussion are fine in CL/Ebay Discussion.

    Sorry mods... about cross posting.

I dug this thread up... last year, searching for D20 OD.

I figured someone that knew about D20 OD was subscribed, and they may or may not get on forum or look at classified sections much.

No excuse for ignorance of the law, I should of read rules better....sorry, won't happen again.
