I've been running these for a couple weeks now. I'm very impressed. I did put Zenon bulbs in them, and the actual light isn't really very blue. They are Delta Tec from Quadra Tec. For the price (cheaper than I could find) they are impressive.

i plan on doing those soon, but also going with an hid upgrade, with stand alone h4 bulbs. should be way bright and hid light is very clean. how clean looking is the beam pattern?

    8) Cari got me a headlight replacement christmas 2005. Wasn't the blue lights, but just regular halogen. I can honestly say I've only driven it once at night since then, but it has been down for over a year...
Just the halogen lights are a huge improvement over the old sealed beams.

These are H4 bulbs. HID are over a thousand bucks...

From the time I've spent in the VW forums, stay away from cheap HIDs. They aren't worth it.

For our Jeeps and the $$ involved a good set of E-code H4s or even DOT H4s will far outperform the stock lights. If you need more put some more lights on the bumper.

    Yes. These are E code.....

For well under a $100 bucks, or even half that, a set of auxilliary spots will light up the night plenty.

Or sneak some dual-filament 100 watt halogen bulbs into a set of aftermarket headlights. No one but you will notice, if they are adjusted to dip properly. Works great on my Harley.

HIDs will just make everyone else on the road hate you for half blinding them. Personally I think they are an evolutionary dead end - they may benefit the individual who has them, but if every car on the highway used them I think night driving would actually be worse for everyone.

Okay, I'm ready... time for my beating.

For around $100 H4s do it nicely and are far less likely to draw unwanted attention from the law (depending on your state if aux. lights are prohibited, etc.)

Just my personal preference but I prefer the H4s to "off-road" or "driving" lights. I do have some fog lights that I want to mount though but for driving in rain/fog, not for driving at nite. Though I'm still hesitating. Not sure I like extra wires dangling around, etc. That's what's nice about the H4s, IMO; good upgrade, doesn't look different unless you inspect the light closely.

In my '05 AEV TJ Rubicon I've got the IPF housings with IPF Fatboy Bulbs, and the high beams are wired into the IPF Driving lights mounted on the bumper....and I love it! Driving at night is actually fun.

I was wanting to drop the IPF stuff into my CJ-6, but this thread may have me looking at the Delta's....looks great Patrick!

    I'm not sure....
But, stop by Shell and look at my headlights if you want!
I'd like to see your Jeep. I probably have, just don't know you or which Jeep is yours....:)

TLA = Three Letter Acronym - Got it! Guilty as charged!R) For the record, IPF I think is self explanatory, AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) is the company that modified my Rubicon, they are a "skunk-werks" shop for Jeep.

    Patrick,

Would love to check out the lights. As for my Jeep, it's over at Clint's shop right now, but it can be spotted in the back. It's red with a white top.
