    Hi,
I just found your web site. It has a lot of very good information.
However it does not answer my question.
I was adjusting the clutch on my 51 M38 and the cable to the clutch fork came
loose from the fork. None of my literature shows the attachment point and hours
of trying to do it by feel were wasted time. Any ideas short of removing the
    transmission?
    Thanks,
    Steve

if the fork has dropped down out of sight, then you can remove the shift tower cover, then the small inspection cover off the top of the bellhousing.
Look down inside, fish around to get the fork; make sure it's still on the pivot; then re-connect the cable.
it can be done, but takes patience.
like all things, the first time may be the hardest

I appreciate your reply. I may have been unclear with my problem. The fork is OK, it is the cable that came loose. I have removed the inspection cover and can see everything except the attachment point for the ball of the cable. I hope I have learned a lesson on this. While showing my son how a clutch adjusts, 55 years of grime prevented the turnbuckles from turning freely so I detached them. While marveling at the fact it was a cable and flexing it to show him that I thought this was unnecesarily complicated on an otherwise simple vehicle, it came loose. I am hoping there is some wise soul out there with a trick to reattach it short of removing the transmission.
Also I could not get the photo to open. Some screen opened asking me to log in again. If you could send the photo to my email, I would appreciate it.
