I tried the resposible route and looked through the tech library and previous post to no avail. I have a Dana 25 front axle. This is my second, the first was a twisted mess. Before I recycled the first I took everything off for spares. The new axle has all sorts of different stuff to it.

I have two passenger side and two drivers side axles, all are bendix type. Three of them have threaded ends. When I bought the jeep the drivers side did not have threads and the passenger side did. The jeep also had locking hubs. I've read elsewhere I have to remove the threads in order to run locking hubs. Is this correct? Do I need the cut off the threads on one axle? If so, how do I attach the darn thing?
I'm finally putting this darn thing back together and now all the little details are driving me nuts.

The threads were for very early cjs, they used a drive flange that bolted to the wheel hub instead of locking hubs, the threads kept the axle from slipiing deeper into the axle tube for proper alignment of the old style Rzeppa joint. Cut the threads off and use them, or find others on ebay. The locking hubs may not have enough engagement of the axle splines without the threads.

Most locking hubs use a snap ring or c clip for holding onto the axle shaft.

Does anyone have expirience with the Selectro HD locking hubs? Anyone who would know if the hubs would engage the axles if the threaded portion was removed? I saw pictures of the Selectros in the photo gallery so at least one other person has dealt with these.
