Chevy power steering

    My 69 cj5 has a camaro power stearing box that works great but it stears almost to easy and this makes it a little squirley on the hiway anyone got an idea on how to get a little more drag or slow the pump maybe ?

    You need a slower ratio box...Out of a bigger GM car....

    What Patrick said, or else a slightly shorter pitman arm. Try to find a box from a big Impala/Caprice form the 70's/80's and you should be good.

    What Patrick and Steve said is true but you also need to check the shaft size and spline count on your current box so that you get the same size. You should also check your power steering hose to see if it is an o-ring style or flare type.

    ....same as above but I'll add That I've used boxes from chevelle/cutlass/lemans and they're also a slower ratio and work well. I look for the larger pre 78 model cars. I don't know but suspect they changed when they were downsized.
