I started off just changing the front two fenders, and now it is a complete body, engine and clutch removal to paint the frame and undercarage. Question when I remount the body what can I use for body mounts? Looks like there was just thin rubber matt. 1971 cj5 v6.

    thanks Phil

    Welcome to the club.

Are you going resto or just fixitup? Best price I found was from Quadratec. Something like $20 plus shipping for a set of Energy Suspension poly. They are not O.E., though, just the more common round donut style. Looks to me like they will give about 1/2" body lift over stock, not too bad.

Thanks for the info. One thing leads to another, the engine has 80k and runs good, has a T18 2" lift and headers. A power takeoff winch. To far changed to restore to origional, but want it to look good and clean. I have an cj7 completley off road rocker, did Teleco, Paragon (too bad about it going away) and all Main, NH and western runs. Mom wants one to get ice cream and Sunday rides to the beach. Thus the CJ5. I also have a factory Jeep 1/2 steel cab and doors on that goes on the 5.

Wont be stock but still hope to turn heads.

Clint, any problems with the mounts you used and the holes in the floor for the clutch & brake pedals? Moses Ludel's book mentioned enlarging the holes and lengthening the pedal rods. just curious. :v6:
