Should my '65 have a horn?

I see it in the wiring diagrams...........but I see a couple other things that I don't have there also.

It doesn't seem like the center (rubber?) cap in the steering wheel has the right feel for a horn........

I need to add one somehow. My boss said he added one on an old truck and used one of the standard auto parts store horn buttons and monted it on the floor by the high beam switch.
Foot operated horn.........seems better then a dash mounted button, more convenient and quicker to use.

Yes. The rubber cap is a horn button. The beep-beep horn from JCW is pretty close to the original sound.

The baja race cars where I worked had a horn button on the floor. Dual air horns - sounded like the European police siren. The floor mounted button worked well for them, since they needed to keep their hands on the wheel, and never used the brake.

In an emergency, I think you could end up pressing very hard on the horn button instead of the brake. IMO if you're too busy to take your hands off the wheel, pressing the horn is likely a low priority.
