Stock gastank location? CJ6

    Where in the heck does the gas tank live from factory? Its finally getting warm enough to look my little Jeep over. The current gas tank looks like a custom job, between the wheel wells with the fill up tube to the passenger side. Smells like it might have a small leak, with the rust I can see so far, it wouldn't suprise me.

    So, I reckon I need to eiter have this custom tank replaced (Will check the local welding shops) or revert back to OEM.

    Driver's side seat until mid-70 or so when it moved to the rear of the Jeep under the tub.

    I reckon if I would of stated, 1964 that would of helped. Thanks for the reply Sparky. That don't sound all that apealing to be sitting over the tank.
