V6 Id

    I found a GM V6 but the guy that has it isn't sure what it is. What should I look for so I don't get one of the FWD ones I can't use?

    By the way, you were right, not free but $50

    FWD = the FI air inlet points toward flywheel
    RWD = opposite

    Carb = look for wires to carb not choke (newer than 1981 IIRC)

    modern RWD 3.8 = look for coils over valve covers elaborate intake Mass Air Flow etc.

    I'm guessing its a 3800 as that is what 90% is out there. Might also be a 2.8 or 3.1 which are also very common. Take pics :D

    The search continues. It turned out to be a 2.8 FWD out of a 90 something Buick.
