quickest/easiest way to put a 3 speed switch in place of the stock hi-low wiper switch... low is too much alot of the time.

i think later cjs had optional intermittent wipers, it was all controlled inside the switch so that might be the easiest way.

I was just complaining about the same thing yesterday. Would you need to do something (like swap in a new one) to the motor if you went to a 3spd or intermitent wipers? I'm sure there has to be many cars and / or trucks in the 70 and 80's that had a similar dash mounted wiper switch.

in order to add an intermittent feature, you do not need to change motors. i added a napa intermittent module to my '75. i have wired it so that on the factory "low speed" setting, the napa variable switch controls the wipers - either by having them run at various intermittent speeds, or by running at the normal low speed. setting the factory switch to high speed allows normal high speed action.

this is a 1/2 hour to 1 hour installation.

the caveat is that i had to use an additional switch to control the intermittent feature, rather than just the factory switch.

    wally.....great idea !

Curious, when on intermittent, does the wiper 'park' to the side after each stroke, or does it stop in the middle of the windshield before it resumes ?

Also , where did you mount the additional switch ?

    Thanks.......

the wipers park in the normal place while waiting during the "intermittent" time.

i put the switch below the wiper and headlight switch, sort of off center between them. it's about 1.5" below them.

the module is zip-tied up under the dash.
