74 Seats

All I can find new is 75 & up. Where can I get new stock low back seats for a 74? what is the differance between a 76 seat & a 74 seat?

 

I ordered the Bestop Classics. They fit my 74 with very minor mods. I had to hog out a couple of mounting holes but that may have just been quality control issues.

Shape is slightly different, pattern of seat cover is different, but most importantly the lower frame & mounting brackets are different. I checked into aftermarket seat assys (do a search here) and decided to cover & repair my original ones instead. You will loose the fold & tumble feature of the right seat completely. This is important if you still want to access the toolbox. I'm sure there are other differences as well, put these come to mind first. The usual decision of most folks who post here is to repair/recover the original seat rather than replace. JM2C

 

So why did mine fit ok? Were the brackets replaced with later ones? As I said they bolted up.
