dana 25/dana 27 front axle

    hello i am new here,but been around jeeps all my life my grandad was a willys dealer. my question is i have a 1955 m38A1 with a dana 25 bendix style axles and just acqired a dana 27 front axle tore it down today to find out it has the spicer axels in it think it came out of a commando will these axles fit in the 25 housing?:?

    for what it's worth.....
    Commando axle shafts I've seen are about 1/4" longer on the outer axle (wheel) end...
    inner shafts the same length
    unknown why to me
    have seen this several times
    different part numbers in the book as well, CJ vs Commando
    makes no sense
    lay your axles side by side and measure
