Well I did my best to extensively search for information on replacement windshields, so I come asking you all for input.

My windshield frame has seen better days, and it has even fewer days of usefulness left. It has rusted considerably along the bottom where it meets cowl rubber and tub. This does not help seal out the wet weather either, although I have temporarily remedied that with silicone.

My question is about the best place to purchase a windshield frame. Which manufacturers should I steer clear of? Who carries the best frame (quality, preferably thicker steel)?

I have heard that the Omix-Ada leave a bit to be desired as they don't seem as strong as the original frames...

Sorry for the book, let me know what you think!

I have had good luck with the ones from www.4wd.com for my cj5s

I have bought NOS from Pete Debella for my M38A1 and M38

I would highly recommend to stay away from JC WHITNEY.

Why not look for a good used one?

I have looked, and thought about posting a WTB ad on the classifieds here. Someone else posted one and it seems they have not gotten a response.

Of course I would be open to a used frame! :) Well at least one that is not rusted through like mine.

I bought a replacement Omix-Ada WS and it is not worth the $$. I put it on so at least I can drive. Looking for a good used one now. Had to drill out a lot of the holes, warped and the sheet metal is super thin.

There have been some great NOS windshields on eBay. I saw one for $75 recently.

I think if you're patient, and place a WTB here, on WillysTech and watch eBay you'll be successful.

Post a WTB on G503 too. There was one on Epay last week, but I think it went for about $100.

I recently bought one from 4wd.com and it seems very sturdy. I think I payed about $275-$300 for everything, gaskets, frame, tax, shipping.

Would recommend staying away from JC Whitney. I bought replacement floor panels and they were junk. Didn't even come close to fitting and were super thin (20 or 22 gauge). The OEM windshields are much heavier than most aftermarket. I took two old OEM windshields, cut them apart and welded the good pieces back together. Was a lot of work but now have a good windshield. Best of luck.
