Spring perch mod.

I am switching to yj springs soon and had a idea..
What if I just weld a new wider perch over the one allready there?
Would keep geometry that way.

 

I just cut the old ones off and reused one hole on each one to maintain geometry. Made for a very clean install. I used all late CJ mounts that I picked up relatively cheap. http://www.jeepdoc.com/catalog/zproducts.asp?id=307

 

If your going to YJ springs, assuming lift springs you'll need to change the pinion angle a little. May as well weld the perch on a couple degrees higher that way you dont have to use a shim. For the front, I'd just use an angle finder and see what the perches are set at now, then cut them off and weld the new ones on at the same angle.
