Buick bell housing

I am getting ready to start installing my T176 behind my 231 V6. I've read all about the mods to the bell so I can bolt it up. I looked on E-bay for a Buick bell thinking maybe I would leave mine untouched and modify a new one. The two that are on E-bay now both appear to have two sets of tranny bolt holes. That must be normal for a bell out of a car so my question is will either set of holes work for the T176 bolt pattern? I can see that both have the extra webbing cast inside the housing and it looks like the "closer" set of holes might be about right. Anyone tried this?
