I tried searching but didnt come up with much.

Bought new gauges for dash today but hit a snag.

They had three diferent gas gauges 1. ford/crysler. 2. AMC /SW. 3. GM.

I am switching to early cj5 rear gas tank and sender.

    Which gauge do I need.??

I would make the choice AMC/SW as that's what was used, SW.

I went through this same thing and made the wrong choice. Had to buy a second gauge. The Autometer part # that worked with my stock CJ-5 sender is 2515. The box says "73ohms empty/8-12full. For most Ford before 1989 and most Chrysler vehicles". This is the only part number listed in 4wheel drive hardware but Summit and Jegs offer several.

Sorry forgot one thing, the first gauge I bought was a 2517 0 empty 30 full. Wrong range.

The only dead on gas guage that I have had in a flatty, is the S/W one that I bought the matching sender to go with it from Instrument Sales and Supply. You can use an Ohm meter and check what your sender puts out and then match it up pretty close though.
