I am starting to work on the engine in my old willys. It is the 134 "hurricane" w/ a one barrel carb. It's float is stick causing the carb to run rich or lean. Would a basic rebuild kit for the carb fix the issue or am I going to have to buy a new carb? for now this is the only known issue. It blows a bunch of smoke w/ tells me it is running rough, but once it warms up it purrs like a kitten. Any guidance would be great

Search the threads here on Carter YF rebuilding. It comes up a lot.

Not too hard to rebuild one if you are careful.

Is this the problem you are trying to fix? Seems that repairing the choke cable and opening the choke a bit will solve your problem.
