    Thanks for the help and advise. i learnrd a lot just asking about the subject. i might not do the rebuild just yet, although i think i'll get the lift anyway for the future-because its cheap. thanks again

    Just my 2 cents, but if it's running and driving fine I'd just leave it alone for now. Wait until it starts smoking or has a noticeable loss of power or oil pressure. Put the money into other parts of your Jeep that need help right now. These little 4 cylinders are about as basic as it gets, and should be a good way to learn the basics of engine rebuilding.
