Bumperettes

    I'm just wondering what the 2 flimzy bands of metal are on the back sides of my a1. From the little research I did I think there called bumperettes...what the heck are bumberettes and whats there purpose? Thanks Jacob

    Yep bumpers.
    Its just 'nuff to make them legal I guess, my YJ has them too.

    Don't think they're there for legalities sake, ECJs didn't have them, not even the mounting holes.

    Not so flimsy. At least on my M38A1C; they are a lot heavier than the puny new ones on my YJ.

    In terms of design, they'd make a darn good "non-slip" footstep for a muddy combat boot.

    Found on all military jeeps (or at least originally). Used for pushing vehicles out of mud, etc. without smashing the bodywork
