Trans Fork Roll Pin

    Took the transmission cover off today and found the rollpin fell out of the R-1 shift fork and the 2-3 shift fork roll pin was loose and cracked. My question is - Is that common and is it just age or some other reason?

    Roll pins don't usually fall out on their own. Possibly the hole have wallowed out. I'd buy new pins and check the fit. If they're snug you should be good to go. Maybe someone in the past replaced them with the wrong size.

    The 2-3 fork roll pin was cracked lengthwise.??

    I did not find the R-1 yet, it is sitting at the bottom of the trans case somewhere.
