sam's winch too good to be true?

i found a 7500 lb 12v electric winch at sam's for $300 you can only pick it up at the sams near my house and there are about 30 of them it's got a remote and a mounting bracket and rollers. are most winches created equal should i go for it or get a 2.5" lift :?

 

I'd spring for the lift and save the coin for a winch later.
If you already wheel with guys who have a winch and they don't mind using them why get one now?

 

If you're talking about the Champion Winch they carry at Sams, it's a great winch. My cousin picked up one for his CJ7 for about $280 at our local Sams. We'ved used it to pull me out sticky spots quite a few times.

Like McDavid said, if you've got buddies that you go with that can recover you then you're better off picking up a lift.

 

I saw that same Champion 7500# winch at Sam's Club the other day too. It seems like a good deal. You get the winch, mounting plate, and a few other goodies with it - all for under $300. I was thinking about buying one, but I too would like to hear more info from anyone else who has this winch or has used this winch before.
