I have a white whitco top that I believe is for a late model cj5. There was an old box with it with AMC part number 898220047.

Can anyone identify that part number or tell me how to identify a whitco top model by measurements?

    Thanks, Gregg.

your part number looks suspect to me
typically, the Jeep Special Equipment part numbers all started out 899
    and also only 7 digits
so an example of a number we're looking for would be: 8992487
    could you re-check the number

I checked again. There are 2 sets of numbers on the box.

    80801801 and 8982200475

    There's also a 5151-? number that's not readable.

The box is an AMC Jeep Renault box.

    Thanks for any help.

5151 = most likely Whitco model/part number ie, 5100 series

the 8982200475 number comes up as:
White, 76-83 CJ5, replacement top, top fabric and door skins only, no bows or hardware
this would be for someone who already has a Whitco top, and just needs to replace the top and doors; they re-use the existing hardware.
it's not for a new installation

That's it! I have the top and door skins only. That confirms it's for a late model CJ5.

I have a 81-86 Jeep parts list CD. Most the top part numbers are in the J812XXXX format. You must have another parts list to cross reference.

    Thanks again!
