Starter or Flywheel

    Which is more likely with your experience? It was noisy before this time it just spins. Have I lost the teeth off one of them or did something give up in my starter? I'll pullthe starter and check it out sometime this week.

    There is a 12 volt key start type on ebay for $169 maybe I should just switch to one of those anyway.

    Flywheel ring teeth. Easy fix, pain to get there as in pull the trans and everything else attached. Should be a couple threads around here somewhere when I did mine. Remove flywheel --hammer and punch ring off -- then flywheel in freezer; new ring gear in oven at 200* drops right on loosely until temp equalizes and voila!

    I still run a 6v starter with no issues using 12v. IMO Leave it.
