brake question

    hey guys will the front brakes off of a 75 cj5 front axle work for the 11 inch conversion on my 54 3b? i think it will but i wanted to be sure before i buy the parts from a guy i know. he wants 40 dollars for all the parts drums and all if i take it all off the axle. is this a good deal. been pondering doing this for a while now. any help would be great. sorry if this had been asked before but im at work right now and he wants me to come get the parts today. thanks jay.

    yes
    but....if they are finned drums, the drums may not clear stock 16" wheels
    $40 is a good deal IMO

    X2. You would prolly pay that much for just the backing plates.

    I would consider replacing the wheel cylinders and the linings though, no sense in taking chances with brakes.

    I hope you got those brake parts. That sounds like a really good deal. When I bought mine, I got them from a Bronco salvage place and paid $50 for the backing plates alone. I bought the hardware new and it really adds up. New drums are high enough to give you a nosebleed.
