On the ECJ5, did the 4cyl models have a diff. shroud from the grill back to the radiator than the V6 models. I am trying to find a diff. radiator and am having issues finding one to fit. I have searched past thread and know about the Fiero stuff. I have a V6 with the stock 4cyl radiator and it is fine until the mercury hits 85 degrees plus and then I don't have enough capacity to cool properly. Any ideas gentlemen? (and ladies)

When I made the swap to the 4.3, I ended up having a radiator made to my size requirements. This DID involve trimming back the schroud to allow the size I wanted to go with. I also ended up going with a Scotts electric pull fan as the 4.3 blades were way off from being centered in the new radiator. No cooling problems with this set up. I can take and post pics later if it will help.

I used a 65 Mustang radiator. Haven't had any problems with cooling since then and it was cheap...$95.00.

I did a lot of phoning around today. Griffin has nothing that will be close. (even if they did it would be $600-$800) Be Cool has a couple that would be close but would be around $600. Both of these are out of the question. Summit has the univerals but none of them will fit without major trimming of the shroud. The gentleman at Vintage Jeeps Inc told me they put 2 different radiators in the 225 models changing to a bigger radiator in 67'. Along with this bigger radiator came a diff shroud mounted to the grill. I may try to check with a buddy about a 69' CJ5 grill and if that doesn't work look at the mustang radiators.

I trimmed the entire shroud off of mine to fit my 3" radiator and run an elecric fan. I am also running the buick V8 so I need alot more room. The bigger the radiator the better, even if you have to make a bent metal shroud to direct the air. My hood also has a fan mounted in it. Got my brand new in the box radiator for only 185. Zach

I've got an electric fan now and no engine fan (no room). The PO put it on (pusher). I thought about a bigger puller fan but have no room for it.

Any fan can be a pusher or a puller. Just in the way you wire it. I have one mounted inside my grill and it is a 1600cfm. Very slim though. Only paid 40 bucks for it too. Zach

My buddy did have a 69 grill and atached larger shroud. He also has the radiator from that JEEP that was a couple months old when the JEEP died. I asked if he would sell it too me and he said bring the JEEP over Fri night and we'll put it in. The price will be a far cry better than the $400-$800 for something from the major companies out there. :)
