I need some advice on the proper vacuum line configuration for my 66 CJ5. I've read all the related links, below is the one everyone seems to refer to for answers on the subject of vacuum lines.
    http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Engine/Rebuild8.html

But mine does't match the photos, there are a couple of significant differences. i
    a) Mine does not have the bell shape PCV valve on the fuel pump side of the engine. My PCV is screwed directly into a T on the intake manifold just below the carburetor and the PCV is connnected to the vent pipe on the top of the valve cover. There's a similar size hose going from the air filter over to the oil filler tube. b) theres a small vent tube connection on my air filter running to another oulet on the T on the intake and I don't have any idea what this is for. I have not seen any pictures of this tube on the oil bath photos. Any one know what this is for?

There's another small line from the T on the intake goes to the heater controls. I understand that.

What I don't understand is the purpose of b) above and where do I pick up the engine vacuum source that is suppose to run to the fuel pump to augment the vacuum for the windshied wippers?

I have the same oil bath that I picked up off a board awhile back. I just capped the smaller hose (outside one) on the canister itself. I too have not found much info on it and what I have found leads me to believe that it was for some sort of smog??? Do not know if it is true or not.

It sounds like your PCV valve has been butchered up by the previous owner to me. Pics would help. As far as I have seen the pcv valve should be on the driver's side valve access plate and routed to the intake under the carb. The other small hose should go to the filler tube neck.

    A. your setup is incorrect. Think about what it's doing set up the way it is now. You're using engine vaccuum to pull vapors out of the oil bath air breather. (If I read it correctly). The pic on the 3B page is correct. B. - I don't remember. C. Wiper vac comes from dual action fuel pump, stock from factory. If your pump is original it'll have a vac line on it, prolly blocked off now if it's original and the wipers aren't hooked up. Replacements are available if you wish to retain vac wipers.

Thanks for your feed back. No, its not butchered up. I figured out the problem last night and I'm embarrassed to admit how simple it was.

Someone had connected the small line on the oil bath air filter dome to the vacuum source on the intake below the carb. I think the correct place for this line from the air filter is to the vent on top of the YF carb.

That frees up the vacuum port outlet on the intake manifold to run over to my fuel pump then the other line on the fuel pump goes to my wipers. Everthing fits now.

I think when I had the engine comparment and all components painted, this line from the air filter to the carb top got attached by mistake to the vacuum port on the intake when we discarded all the old cracked winshield wiper lines.

When I get all the lines back in place I'll try to get some pictures because this stock PCV set up is slightly different than those shown in the tech sections.
