The green light on my Spartan turn signal was not working. So, I pulled it apart and cleaned it. The green light now works. However, the left front turn signal does not, and it worked fine before.

My multimeter shows 15-20 volts at the light that pulses with the flasher. The LF parking lamp works fine. All other lights and signal work fine. Installed a new bulb on the LS that works on the RS - nothing.

Got me stumped. Any ideas out there?

I had 2 simular problems , once do to a bulb having bad contacts ,one was taller then the other. The 2nd time it was a bad connect where the wire from the turn signal was crimped into the jeeps wiring ,apperantly I crimped it to tight and cut the wire off inside of the connector. It worked untill I messed with the harness one day and it must have lost contact then.

Check the contacts inside the socket. On mine there is a flat plastic piece in the bottom that holds the contacts in place. Under that there must be a spring. Mine was gunked up enough to where when the bulb was pushed in, the spring wasn't strong enough to overcome the gunk to push the contacts back up to meet the bulb. Pokeing around on it loosened it up to where the contacts finally where touching.

On another one I had a loose ground that caused a similar problem.

I had the same thing happen about 6 months or so ago. Drove me nuts for about a week. Found exactly what Jim found.

I finally just bought a pair of replacement Hall tail lights...and guess what. About a week later they started acting up. Pulled the bulb out and found that they were jury-riged from the factory. They put the wrong bulb in and kept it in place by wrapping it in electrical tape. Ugh! Rant off.

Check the spring in the light socket. That is my guess. HTH.
