Hey guys, I need some common questions and hopefully answers. R)

I'm working on my talk for Sat. in Jeff City. If you have an example of questions common to flatfender carbs it would help me.

I've rebuilt a YF but it's been a couple years now. Never touched a YS.

How about the benefits of Solex vs. Carter(?) on the F and L-Head motors. Seems to come up rather often. Generally the consensus seems to be the Solex has several benefits, the biggest being reliability and simplicity as compared with the originals. I have an L-Head with the Solex, and can attest to it being a high quality replacement. (I know, that motor is supposed to be in a flat fender! Works anyway though.)

Ooo, another one would be the linkage attachment for the dash-mounted throttle cable. I've seen a drawing of that somewhere around here.

Sorry, I know that doesn't quite get at your more specific question (not sure what you mean by "YS"); hope it helps anyway.

There was also a good thread awhile back on what kind of oil to put in the oil bath.

Not talking about air filters really. Troubleshooting carbs, replacements, etc. :)

FWIW, I've used that gasket in the past with no problems...
