I recently had my frame blasted and powdercoated. It looks so good it's almost embarassing.

It's got some dust and cat hair on it, does that count?

Didn't I read that you paid just over a hundred bucks for the powdercoating? Or was that someone else? Here in Boise I can't get it done for less than 300$.

Wellll, I was quoted $125 for sandblasting the frame, and $115 for coating the frame. But then I tossed in the bumper, crossmember, dual m/c bracket, and some other little things, so that brought the total up to $385 for everything.

It's all time related, so the more time it takes them the more it costs. If everything was bolted to the frame it would have cost less, but then the mating surfaces would have still been all rusty and funky, so what's the point of that?

I'm really happy with how it turned out.

It would sure be nice to powdercoat and not worry about corrosion ever again.

Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind to have the tub and sheetmetal done. Good thing I can't afford that.

that's amazing! that thing looks brand new! is there some sort of garuntee or warantee that comes with the work? does the frame lose any structural integrity in the process, i.e., some sort of thickness measurement?

You should see it in person! No warranty that I know of. How could someone warranty something like that? No structural integrity loss either, it's just a powder that's sprayed on and then melted. Doesn't get that hot, about 450* or so I believe. They blocked off all threaded holes so it didn't fill 'em up.
