I was putting the choke cable back in my JEEP tonight and didn't disconnect the battery. It is so flexible that it flopped around behind the dash and arced against the ignition switch. I'm kind of glad it did, because it got me to thinking that if it did that in my driveway, probably would do that on the trail, too. So I went to FLAPS for an insulated cable, but found that they don't sell one. I made my own by using a length of 3/16" I.D. rubber fuel line hose. Cost me less than $5, and provides a very thick insulation against chaffing and electrical short.
