Nope. If you used a good assembly lube and followed the cam manufacturer's recomendations, you should be good. Did you prelube the oil pump and/or pack it full of vaseline before you put it in?

no i havent put the vasaline in the oil pump, i was planning on priming it with the drill...
and for break in, use thin or thick oil?

Dauntless or Buick motors don't prime very easily without being packed with something. The pumps are along way from the oil source and as such don't prime easily drill or no drill. Use the standard 10w-30 that you would run in the motor. Also once its run about 30 minutes or so drain the oil and change the filter. You don't want all that assembly lube clogging filters up and such.

We always used whatever we were going to use in it long term.
Just change the break in oil sooner. We alawys ran them in frame but they never left the shop with the break in oil. Set a box fan blowing air on the grill and run the engine at various RPMS.

Don't let it idle for the 1st 20 minutes or so. It needs to be run around 2500 rpm to properly break in the cam, then vary the rpm like Jerry said.

It looks way better then my motor, which reminds me do chevys need to have the oil pump packed? I sure hope not since I didn't and don't feel like going back in there again for a while.

Packing the oil pump with grease or Vaseline is a good idea though I've never had a pump which didn't prime itself quickly when spun with a drill motor. Just make sure you spin the pump the right way.

Man that black paint sure hides stuff, I never even noticed the hole in the front cover and didn't pay attention to the thermostat housing.
The headers didn't thro me but the valve covers I did notice looked like chevy units in the other pics.
