i have finally gotten around to draining and checking all the drive train fluids in zed. transfer case, trans, both diffs.

when i opened my front diff (27A) what came out seemed to be the consistency of knuckle pudding...

i had rebuilt my knuckles early last spring and packed them with a 50%-50% mix of 90wt. and grease. this appears to be the same stuff. am i correct in assuming that an internal oil seal around the axle shaft should have prevented the pudding from entering the front diff? since there should have been 80 or 90 wt in the diff. or am i misremembering?

    thanks for any and all.

I've got a seal in the knuckle that keeps puddin' out of the diff.
